The Challenge Daytona Event – Gustav Iden Challenge Part 2
We want to recreate with you what was the biggest race of 2020 and in this new virtual world, we are going to do our own version of Challenge Daytona, with our Gustav Iden Challenge Part 2!
Challenge Daytona took place in December 2020 with a host of top athletes competing for over a million dollars in prize money and coming out on top was one of Challenge Tri Camp’s favourite athletes, Gustav Iden. We ran a virtual event last May using Gustav’s 70.3 World Championships winning time and as he won in Daytona as well we thought it would be great to have another virtual event to see how it compares!
To mirror Gustav’s winning time at Daytona you will complete each section using his split times. This event is suitable for all abilities as it is based on time rather than distance, if you are at all unsure just drop us an email and we can help.
With no pool access we have designed a 23min 44secs indoor strength circuit to do, then onto your indoor bike or outside if you can stay local to home for a tough bike set of 1hr 41mins & 2secs, before finishing off with a leg testing run of 58mins 16secs! A total race time of 3hrs 3mins 2 secs with transition times neutralised.
See how far you can go using Gustav’s times. Its going to be tough, but knowing lots of us are all doing it at the same time will help keep you motivated and those legs turning! It’s not about winning, it’s about competing and having fun and feeling part of something – we will have a zoom meeting at the start of the plan to get you set up and then a post event zoom presentation – with even a few spot prizes – no million dollar prize purse though!!!
Not used to these distances…no problem we have a half version as well so the strength set stays the same but we have reduced the bike to 60mins 32secs and the run to 29mins 8 secs. A total race time of 1hrs 53mins 24 secs with transition times neutralised.
You choose the race that is right for you……
